Downtown Crawlers is a Tampa-born bar crawl company that turns the biggest party weekends of the year into the best nights out in town. Since 2016 we've hosted themed bar crawls and festivals in 30+ U.S. cities, from our Gasparilla Bar Crawl to Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo and Holiday crawls.
It started with 25 crawlers
In the summer of 2016, German-born brothers Markus, Thomas and Andreas Neuert came back to Tampa to launch a local events app called Kyngo they had built in Silicon Valley. To spread the word and get people to download the app, they called a few bar owners with a simple pitch: let's throw a bar crawl. Ten days later, on August 27, 2016, about 25 crawlers showed up for the very first crawl in downtown Tampa.
The bars loved the idea and more themed crawls followed, from bacon to pumpkin spice to chocolate mint, with bartenders mixing special drinks for every theme. Within months, over 100 people joined every crawl, and the side project had taken on a life of its own.

In 2018, the brothers went all in on crawls, launched the Gasparilla Brunch & Bar Crawl, now their biggest event of the year, and expanded their themed crawls from Florida to California. Today, local city managers run Downtown Crawlers events in 30+ cities across the U.S., with the three founders still leading the company.
Behind every crawl is a lot of planning most crawlers never see. Weeks ahead, our team scouts neighborhoods, signs on partner bars and lines up drink specials, check-in venues and wristband perks. On crawl day, local city managers run the show on the ground, so crawlers can focus on the fun while our partner bars get a busy, well-run night.

More than 500 events and 110,000 crawlers later, the formula hasn't changed: pick a theme, team up with the best bars in town and give people a reason to meet someone new. Pirates in January, leprechauns in March, zombies in October and ugly sweaters in December. There's always a crawl coming up.
